The Chicken Project is a student-run project with the intention of raising chickens on the Willow Glen High School campus. Students in Mr. Bursch's 1-2 Biology classes were assigned with creating their own ESLP project. The purpose behind the assignment to the get students to find a topic that interests them and create their own project to help improve the school. Typically these projects revolve around the garden at Willow Glen High and they are used to help the students to developing important skills such as collecting and using data. For our project we want to raise chickens on the campus. We plan to research the raising of chickens, build a coop for the animals, purchase, and raise a few of our own chickens. This will help to benefit the school because we can make others aware of how to properly raise chickens and ultimately we hope the chickens will begin to lay eggs.
